The British Red Cross Ball 2006: The Secret Garden

A blank canvas tent space was transformed into a magical enchanted forest for the 2006 Red Cross Ball. Guests were treated to a reception in the snow-covered Nania-inspired winter garden, before unlocking the door to The Secret Garden with ornate keys sent out with their invitations. Inside, guests dined under a glowing moon, wisteria trees and crumbling stone ruins.

Elton John's Seventh White Tie & Tiara Ball: Africa

For an African theme,Left Field Productions designed two tents: a reception area in the style of an African game lodge complete with open sides and a thatched portico entrance and a dining room in the style of a safari tent with views out onto the landscape. The event was brought to life with a troupe of African dancers, and lions, zebras, gorillas, and an authentic African gospel choir. The menu featured exotic meats and fish such as springbok, kudu, crocodile, talapia, marlin, and kingklip with a dessert of passionfruit and mango mousse served in a chocolate African hut with an edible thatched roof.

La FÊte Noire for chopard at cannes film festival

Left Field Productions created a black themed event for Chopard, the title sponsor of the Cannes Film Festival, with a nod to Philippe Starck's signature style of juxtaposing furniture from different periods with quirky props. The theming also featured an entire wall made of mirror and a mirrored dance-floor. Guests were served black food and cocktails by 80 wait staff dressed in black uniforms with identical black bob wigs.

Montblanc Fine Jewellery Launch

To launch Montblanc's first fine jewellery collection the challenge was to create an event that allowed guests to see the jewellery on models in evening wear, but also up-close so they could appreciate the detail and craftsmanship of the product. The event also needed to communicate Montblanc's brand values; classic yet contemporary, luxurious, stylish, elegant, and sophisticated, while bringing out the feminine qualities of what has traditionally been considered a masculine brand.

British Red Cross Ball 2007: Honky Tonk Blues

Taking inspiration from the 1980 John Travolta movie Urban Cowboy, the interior of the famous Texan Honky Tonk, Gilley's, was re-created inside a tent. Determined to avoid the usual clichés of Country & Western/Wild West themes Left Field Productions made a conscious decision not to use rhinestone, lace, saloon doors, cactus, hay bales, cow print, tequila-shot girls, guns in holsters, or anything resembling Annie Get Your Gun. The theming was intended to be gritty and raw, with the emphasis on urban cowboy style. Guests would feel as if they had walked into an authentic Texan Honky Tonk complete with pool tables, rodeos, line dancing, Jack Daniels, Budweiser and a traditional country music band.

The D&AD Awards 2008

The D&AD 'Yellow Pencil' Awards reward outstanding creativity in advertising and design. Taking 'The Yellow Pencils' as inspiration, Left Field Productions transformed London's Royal Festival Hall into one giant illustration. An interior scene complete with furniture, pictures, windows, doors, and caricatures of people from the world of advertising was hand-drawn in pencil and printed life-size so that guests felt they had stepped into a cartoon world.

John Water's Love You To Death TV Show launch at MIPTV 2007 Cannes

The brief was to create an event that would enable buyers to experience the quirky style of the show. John Waters, in the role of 'The Groom Reaper', lends a wry comedy and macabre sensibility to the twisted true stories of spouses who murder their loved ones. The event had to capture the show's unique tone; dark, edgy, funny but shocking, with a feel of Fargo meets American Beauty. As the event had to work for an international audience, many of whom might speak limited English, a visual spectacle was created to communicate the universal themes of marriage and murder by transforming the venue into a Museum of Spousal Murder with wickedly funny set pieces to reflect the quirky storylines.
