Below is a list of 30th Birthday Party Ideas.
Unlike a lot of the later milestone birthdays, most people enjoy celebrating their 30th with a good party. But as this is the first milestone birthday party of adult life, you'll probably want to approach it a bit differently to previous big birthdays like your 21st.
As a general rule, I would recommend that you focus your efforts on creating a party with good quality food, some decent drinks (maybe some stylish cocktails or good wines), great music and—above all else—a really good bunch of friends. You really don't need to worry about things like decorations as much. And definitely steer clear of all those tacky banners, balloons and decorations you see with 30 all over them—they're far too cheap and childish for 30th birthdays.
People's lifestyle and taste are so diverse at 30—some might be married or have kids, others might be single—so be sure to plan the party around what the host likes. It could be a civilised cocktail party at home, or a full-on party with dancing at a venue. If they're outdoorsy or have young children maybe plan a picnic or garden party, or if they'd prefer something more intimate go for a sit-down dinner party with a select group of friends and family.
Whatever format you decide on, remember to make it as personal as possible by including the host's favourite foods, drinks and music, etc. If in doubt, run some of the ideas past a small group of the host's friends.
Regardless of what party theme or format you choose, 30th birthdays are a great opportunity to indulge in some nostalgia. Celebrate their twenties (and their childhood in general) by putting together a photo slideshow to play at the party. To chart a visual memory of the past 10 years, include plenty of embarrassing photos (dodgy fashion choices and haircuts from their twenties) with lots of sentimental ones (from graduation, weddings, birth of kids, groups of friends, etc). I've seen this done many times at 30th and 40th birthday parties and it adds a really lovely sentimental touch—with a few laughs for light relief.
